This year Standing on the Side of Love dedicates its 30 Days of Love campaign to "A Spiritual Journey for Social Justice." Spiritual journey and Social Justice are hallmarks of Unitarian Universalist faith and tradition, and this is an opportunity for us to focus our collective energy and attention on bringing the force of love to bear on issues of Social Justice that have appeared intractable in the past. We at The Blue Boat of Youth and Young Adult Ministries are excited to take part and to bring the passion and perspective of Unitarian Universalist youth and young adults to the endeavor; we invite you to join us! Every day throughout the next thirty we will add our contribution to the acts of reflection, appreciation and calls to action of Standing on the Side of Love. Change will come from this, so spread the word – we can be the change we want to see in the world. Follow this column for tips, resources, tools, inspiration and calls to action – not just from the editorial staff at The Blue Boat, but from those of you who wish to the rest of us. - Thanks! - Ed.

January 19, 2013 Pledge to take a Spiritual Journey for Social Justice

From the SSL website: "We are at a transformational moment—struggling to confront our culture of violence and bullying, anxious to see further advancements for LGBTQ equality, and poised to push our leaders to finally enact compassionate, comprehensive immigration reform. Wherever you come from, however you found us, open your heart and lift up your voice during the Thirty Days of Love for a world transformed through the power of love. Take the pledge to join this spiritual journey for social justice!" Other things you can do:

→ Visit Standing on the Side of Love to learn about how you can help create greater Social Justice.

→ Change your Facebook status to reflect your desire for greater Social Justice.

→ "Discover" someone on the Internet who worked for Social Justice. Share what you learn with others.
