Justice Training for Youth from The College of Social Justice

by Laura Lubin, Associate for Youth & Young Adult Programs This summer the Unitarian Universalist College of Social Justice (UUCSJ) is running a wide variety of justice trainings and trips for high school aged youth. Whoever you are and wherever you are, we hope you’ll join us! ACTIVATE! A PRE-GENERAL ASSEMBLY TRAINING Planning to come to GA in Providence this June? Kick it off with a full day of social justice training and action on Wednesday, June 25! For more info visit uucsj.org/activate. MISSISSIPPI CIVIL RIGHTS JOURNEY Youth and adults are invited on this bus tour, where we’ll learn about UUism’s civil rights history, celebrate the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer, and connect to modern civil rights issues. July 5–12. NATIONAL YOUTH JUSTICE TRAININGS  New Orleans: Join us to create a beloved community for one week, as we engage in transformative justice education enlivened by this city’s rich cultural history. July 12–20.  Boston: Come to the heart of UUism for a two-week training on minimum wage, workers’ rights, and our own roles as change-makers in our communities. July 19–August 1.  Seattle: This brand new one-week program will connect with youth rights organizations across Seattle and explore the foundations of human rights work. August 9–15.
