Not Columbus Day: Indigenous People's Day

Columbus Day celebrates the eponymous explorer's landing of the on the shores of the Americas in 1492. Indigenous People's Day celebrates the people and cultures of the Americas whose destiny was changed by his arrival. Columbus' voyage was the result of a papal policy of religious conquest – the effects of which continue to harm indigenous people all over the world.

Unitarian Universalist Principles and Beliefs call upon the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) to establish social justice for native American and indigenous people's. Honor Indigenous People's Day with the UUA.
