Discuss how to grow UU Faith

Greetings, Young Adult Folks! This year at General Assembly, young adults are going to have a great opportunity to have our voices heard in a meaningful way. On Saturday June 22nd from 12:00 – 1:30 pm, the UUA Board of Trustees is hosting a drop-in conversation for young adults centering around 3 questions that speak to how our UU faith might grow in the coming years. There will be conversation about the future of the traditional “congregation” as the center of spirituality and religious development. We’ll also address how decisions are made in our denomination now, how they might be made more democratically, and what we can do to make GA work smarter. Finally, there will be dialogue about the way that experiences with YRUU (Young Religious Unitarian Universalists) or other denominations’ youth groups have shaped (and continue to shape) our experiences as religious young adults. The informal, drop-in style of the session will allow you to participate for 15 minutes or 90 minutes depending on your schedule and interest. All those who identify as young adults are welcome, and lunch will most definitely be provided! The session will be in the Young Adult Caucus room, L14 of the Convention Center. I’m excited for the chance to sit down with other young adults (as well as members of the Board of Trustees!) and have these intentional conversations. I truly believe that processing together about these issues will distill solutions and direction for meaningful denominational change. Hope to see y’all there!
