Lead Your Peers @ GA

Youth Caucus Deans are the leaders of the volunteer Youth Caucus Staff for General Assembly and applications are now open through August 10th. Deans work with the Youth Caucus Staff to fulfill the purpose of Youth Caucus, which is to serve youth who want to become more involved in Unitarian Universalism and grow as Unitarian Universalists, including youth who want to be involved in the business of Unitarian Universalism.

Many of you have probably been to Youth Caucus at General Assembly before. However, many of you, like me, may be learning about these things for the first time. Regardless of whether you’ve been training since birth to become Youth Caucus Dean, or whether you’re contemplating applying upon the suggestion of a friendly adult from your congregation, I urge you to fully consider all that the position has to offer.

Being the Junior Dean, I’ve been able to meet some of the most amazing UUs. Just within my team, I’ve gotten to work on a powerful multi-generational team who inspires me with each and every thing they do. But that’s not all. During our fall meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) headquarters in Boston, we ran into UUA President Peter Morales simply while getting coffee and breakfast. Later that day we had a luncheon with the UUA Board of Trustees. The opportunities this position has afforded me are incredible. I have learned more about my faith, more about my community, more about myself from being in this position than I could have ever imagined.

~Eric Broner, 2017 Senior Dean
