MLK Day with The Nature Consortium

Date: Monday, January 16, 2017, 1:00 am - 9:00 am EST
The Nature Consortium is one of UUC's 2016-17 Seeds of Justice Partners,* and is collaborating with United Way of King County by hosting an MLK Day of Service event on January 16. Volunteers from UUC will join others to continue the effort in restoring the West Duwamish Greenbelt forest.
By lending a hand, you'll help spread Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of compassion and service to the whole community. This is the largest urban forest in Seattle and taking part in restoring this important green space, volunteers are helping improve water quality and preserve and enhance our city's native habitat. Activities will begin at 10 AM and conclude at 2 PM. Music, refreshments, tools and instructions will be provided. All ages and abilities are welcomed; no experience is necessary.
* UUC's Seeds of Justice Partnerships do not end with the giving of grant money, but continue as a mutual commitment to advance the organizations work and our shared justice goals over a period of 18 months. In addition to the $10,000 grant we have made, we work together to see where UUC's people, institutional voice and other assets can be applied to advance the organization's work. In 2016, we started a Seeds of Justice Partnership with The Nature Consortium and the Rainier Valley Corps.
