Social Witness Sermon Contest

The Social Witness Sermon Contest is your opportunity to speak out on any dimension of the current Congregational Study/Action Issues. Winners receive a cash award. See past sermon contest winners.
The submission period for 2018 has closed. Submissions for the 2019 contest will be welcomed between January and March 2019.
Topic of Sermon
Sermons must address a current Congregational Study/Action Issue. One is The Corruption of our Democracy. The other will be selected at the 2018 UUA General Assembly. Either topic will be eligible.
Who Can Enter
The contest is open to both clergy and laypeople as long as the sermon was delivered to a Unitarian Universalist congregation.
You must have delivered the sermon to a congregation within the past year and before the deadline.
How to Enter
Submit in MS Word or Plain Text. (PDF not acceptable.) Email to socialwitness [at] uua [dot] org (subject: Social%20Witness%20Sermon%20Contest) with the subject line "Social Witness Sermon Contest".
Include Two Items
- A cover page, which has your name, address, phone number, email address, sermon title, congregation to whom the sermon was delivered, and date the sermon was delivered. Be sure to indicate this is for the Social Witness sermon contest.
- Your sermon with title, from which any identifying information has been taken out (name, congregation). Please do not include footnotes.
