Vision for the UUA: Gathered Here

A Joint Initiative

Gathered Here is a joint initiative of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Board of Trustees and the UUA Administration in which all Unitarian Universalists (UUs) are invited to discover our common aspirations and unleash the power of our faith.

UUs across the continent may participate in structured interviews from July 2011 to October 2012. We will capture those meaningful moments, times of growth and positive developments in UU congregations or communities. We will reflect on how these positive experiences are relevant to our larger faith and how they might be applied to our collective future. Our input will help to shape a collective vision for the UUA and help professional and lay leaders shape the future of Unitarian Universalism.

Community Conversations

Community Conversations are a process through which groups of people conduct two-way interviews, share positive experiences about their lives as Unitarian Universalists (UUs), and reflect on how these positive experiences can enhance our congregations, communities, and faith as a whole. They are run by a Facilitator, who records and reports back the findings of the group.

Want to run one? Fill out the Facilitator sign-up sheet and download the materials provided below. You can get started right away!

Can’t commit to running a Community Conversation, but would like to see one at your local congregation or community? Sign them up here.

What do I do when I’m done? Fill out the Community Conversation Summary online OR print out the downloadable copy, fill it out by hand and mail it to us.

One on One Conversations

One on One Conversations make it easy for as many UUs as possible to participate in Gathered Here, even if they can’t join a Community Conversation. You choose whether to meet with someone you already know, or someone new – perhaps from elsewhere in the country. All you need to do is find a partner and go through the materials with them, sharing your hopes, dreams and aspirations for the future of our faith. We also encourage you to submit your findings so that they may shape the future of our organization.

Don’t have a partner? Fill out the Participant sign-up sheet and we will send you contact information for your partner shortly.

Have a partner? You can download the materials below and have your One on One Conversation right away.

What materials do I need? Download these three documents and look them over before your conversation:

What do I do when I’m done? Fill out the One on One Summary online OR print out the downloadable copy, fill it out by hand and mail it to us.
