Charge to the Committee
Charge: Annually select a book published during the prior calendar year judged to be the most significant contribution to religious liberalism.
Oversight: Office of the Executive Vice President
Membership: Five to seven members.
Term: Two years, normally beginning January 1 of even-numbered years with reappointment allowed three times for a maximum of eight years.
Qualifications: Members must be a member of a Unitarian Universalist congregation. Knowledge about current literature and liberal religious values highly desirable.
Time commitment: One or two meetings a year in Boston. Considerable reading at home.
