Section 5.10. Commission on Social Witness.

The Commission on Social Witness shall consist of three members elected by the General Assembly and two members appointed by the Board of Trustees. The election and appointment of members shall occur only at regular General Assemblies held in odd numbered years.

  1. Each appointment and election of a member to the Commission will be for a term of four years;
  2. One member shall be appointed each odd-numbered year; and
  3. No fewer than one nor more than two members shall be elected each odd-numbered year, as is required to insure a full complement of elected members.

No member shall serve on the Commission for more than two four-
year terms in succession. In the case of a vacancy in an appointed position by reason of death, disqualification, resignation or removal, the vacancy shall be filled at any time for the remainder of the term by appointment by the Board of Trustees for the balance of the term. The duties of the Commission are described in Section 4.12 and Section 4.16 of the Bylaws and Rules G-4.12.1, G-4.12.2, and G-4.18.2.
