Orientation Manual for Chairs of UUA Committees
Introduction to the Committee on Committees Orientation Manual
Process & Accountability
The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is composed of nineteen trustees elected by their Districts; four Trustees elected at large by the delegates to the General Assembly; and the Moderator, President and Financial Advisor (also elected). The Executive Vice President (staff) serves as Recording Secretary, and her assistant serves as staff to the board and Moderator. All Trustees are elected to serve four year terms, with the possibility of re-election once. The BOT elects or appoints its own Vice-Moderator, Second Vice Moderator, Secretary and Assistant Secretary. Board members accept appointments to various committees of the Board, and each also serves on a Working Group of the board. They accept additional appointments as members or liaisons for some Board-Appointed or Elected committees or special task forces. Such appointments are processed by the Committee on Committees (COC) of the Board. View the entire Orientation Manual (PDF).
