Unitarian Univeralists for Alternatives to the Death Penalty

Unitarian Universalists for Alternative to the Death Penalty (UUADP), organized in 1996, is a social action group seeking to give witness to the five UUA resolutions of past years calling for an end to capital punishment. Our mission is providing education and resources so that we may be well prepared to speak and act in ways that shed a truthful light on this issue, and refute the myths that surround it; urging participation in state and local groups that oppose the death penalty, and where no local chapters exist, provide help in organizing them; raising the consciousness of our congregations through workshops, programs, and sermons; and demonstrating how the principles of Unitarian Universalism are affirmed and promoted by our participation in this effort.
