SEVENTH
ANNUAL
ALBERT SCHWEITZER SERMON AWARD
UFETA (Unitarian Universalists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) announces the seventh annual Albert Schweitzer Sermon Award. The award, which carries an honorarium of $400, will be presented to the Unitarian Universalist presenter of a sermon that best exemplifies Schweitzer's principle of "reverence for life." The sermon must have been delivered before a UU congregation between April 1, 2004 and March 31, 2005. Recipients must also be planning to attend the 2005 UUA General Assembly in Fort Worth where they will deliver the prize-winning sermon in a special worship service.
Please submit sermons by April 1, 2005 as a hard copy and an electronic copy to:

Basically, the point of the Schweitzer Sermon is to encourage people to have services and to preach about nonhuman issues - with an emphasis on respect and reverence for animals. What we are looking for is a copy of the sermon given during this worship service (and if you need to include a reading or two for it to make sense, then please do). Send the sermon in a written form and email it to me, as well as send a hard copy to me at the address in the attachment. And if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to contact me. You don't have to worry about tapes, etc.
