Proposer's Guide
This Proposer's Guide has been revised and updated to reflect the changes in the social witness process brought about by the Bylaws changes adopted by the 2006 Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) General Assembly (GA).
This guide provides comprehensive information on the proposal process for:
- Part 1—Congregational Study/Action Issues & UUA Statements of Conscience
- Part 2—General Assembly Actions of Immediate Witness
This guide is designed to help people who wish to propose a Congregational Study/Action Issue or Action of Immediate Witness. You will find here all of the requirements and some helpful tips and resources to help prepare your proposal. You will also find information regarding the entire process from proposal to possible adoption. If you need further assistance, you can visit our website or ask a member of the Commission on Social Witness by simply emailing socialwitness @ uua.org.
