- Optional: Cordless microphone
- Optional: Pulpit or podium
- Optional: Copies for participants of Handout 2: Meditation on Leftovers
Preparation for Activity
- Determine whether you will use this story in place of the song "Turn the World Around" or in addition to it.
- Review the story and practice reading it aloud to ensure that you will present it effectively.
- Optional: Print out and photocopy the handout for all participants.
Description of Activity
Read aloud the story in Handout 2 by Unitarian Universalist minister Gordon McKeeman.Allow several moments of silence following the story.
Including All Participants
Be sure that all participants can hear you read the story. If any participants may need ASL interpretation, arrange in advance for an interpreter at this workshop. You may choose to provide a printed copy of the story to participants who are deaf or hard of hearing.
