Preparation for Activity

  • Review and print out Handout 2 the story from the book A Private History of Awe by Scott Russell Sanders. Practice reading it aloud to ensure that you will present it effectively.
  • Optional: If you would like each participant to have a copy of the story you will read aloud, print out and photocopy Handout 2: from A Private History of Awe.

Description of Activity

Invite participants to sit comfortably and listen to the story as you read it aloud from Handout 2: from A Private History of Awe. You may wish to use a pulpit or podium and/or a cordless microphone to ensure that all participants can hear you.

Including All Participants

Be sure that all participants can hear you read the story. As needed, you may wish to arrange for ASL interpretation at this workshop and/or provide a printed copy of the story to participants who are deaf or hard of hearing.
