Invite participants to sit comfortably and listen to the story "An Extraordinary Evening" as you read it aloud. You may wish to use a pulpit or podium and/or a cordless microphone to ensure that all participants can hear you.Pause at the conclusion. Then, invite the group into discussion with these questions:
- What was sacred in the experience of those persons gathered?
- Where do you see spirituality in this story?
- What are some of the ways we can manifest that spirituality in our workshop community? Our congregation?
Including All Participants
Be sure that all participants can hear you read the story. If any participants may need ASL interpretation, arrange in advance for an interpreter at this workshop.
