Description of Activity

Offer an introduction to this workshop and Unitarian Universalist spirituality. You can base your words on the following:

Welcome to this introduction to spirituality for Unitarian Universalists. Our Unitarian Universalist faith affirms the oneness of creation and is open to truth wherever it is found—in world religions, in science and philosophy, in the poetic and prophetic voices and the deeds of women and men, and in communal and personal experience.

We honor many spiritualities and practices as paths to the holy. In the Spirit of Life workshop(s), we will explore ways that each of us connects to what we find meaningful, sustaining, and spiritual in our lives.

If you have a schedule of future workshops in your congregation's Spirit of Life series, direct participants' attention to it.

Invite questions about the workshop or the series.

Including All Participants

All participants in your workshop, particularly those who are hard of hearing, will absorb the material better if you use a microphone, speak in an engaging manner, use body language, and make frequent eye contact.
