About the Authors

ALICE ANACHEKA-NASEMANN

The Reverend Alice Anacheka-Nasemann has served as a director of religious education for eight years, first at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Oneonta and currently at the Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson. A graduate of Andover Newton Theological School, Alice is also an ordained minister in preliminary fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. Alice earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development at Friends World College . Her college years included travel and study in Kenya, Costa Rica and Nicaragua and internships focused on the educational needs of homeless children, gifted learners, adolescents with special needs and orphans.

ELISA DAVY PEARMAIN

Elisa Davy Pearmain has been a professional storyteller for over 25 years. She received her Masters in Education from Lesley University in Creative Arts in Education. She has been a storyteller in residence for the Boston public schools and has taught teachers to integrate storytelling across the curriculum through the Lesley University Masters Program for 14 years. Elisa earned a second Masters, in Counseling Psychology, in 1998 and works part-time as a licensed mental health counselor. The author of two award-winning books, Doorways to the Soul: 52 Wisdom Tales from Ar ound the World (Cleveland: Pilgrim Press, 1998) and Once Upon a Time: Storytelling to Teach Character and Prevent Bullying (Greensboro, NC: Character Development Group, 2006), Elisa is a lifelong member of the First Parish Church in Lincoln, MA .
