How can we make sure that the Sexuality and Our Faith slides and video are used appropriately?
First, ensure that your program is only taught by facilitators who have participated in appropriate Our Whole Lives/Sexuality and Our Faith training. Appropriate use entails:- Showing the slides or video to parents in advance of the program, as part of parent orientation and receiving their written consent on the form provided in Sexuality and Our Faith for Grades 7-9 and 10-12.
- Showing them to participants in the context of the Our Whole Lives program and using the lesson plans for the slides and video included in Sexuality and Our Faith.
- Using the slides with Our Whole Lives for Grades 7-9 and the video with Our Whole Lives for Grades 10-12.
- Excusing youth who do not want to view the material or whose parents do not want them to view it.
