Why do we have to do different trainings for each age level?

These workshops are designed to offer in-depth training in the developmental level and subject matter of each age-specific curriculum. For example, training for the Grades K-1 program focuses on the using age-appropriate language, establishing a safe and engaging classroom, working with parents, and leading songs and activities. Training for the Grades 7-9 program focuses more on understanding and addressing the specific developmental issues of early adolescents. Sometimes, Grades K-1 and Grades 4-6 training workshops are combined into a weekend-long event, after which participants are certified to teach both or either. The Sexuality Education Task Force is developing a training model that will allow facilitators to be trained in both junior and senior high Our Whole Lives leadership.
