Young Adult & Campus Ministry Anchor Congregations
First Unitarian Society
Madison, Wisconsin
Central Midwest District
The Madison Unitarian Universalist Young Adult and Campus Ministry (MUUYACM) is a vibrant and active young adult and campus ministry group. Students meet for weekly worship on campus, but this meeting is only the tip of the programming iceberg for UU young adults in Madison. Other programming includes regular social justice programming (including an annual trip to Fort Benning, Georgia, for the School of the Americas Convergence), conferences, and social programs as well. First Unitarian Society supports young adult and campus ministry with funding and staff—including a full-time Associate Minister and a Program Coordinator. Campus Ministry in Madison, WI, dates back to 1885 with the founding of the University Channing Club on campus. Members and leaders of MUUYACM have spread their energy, wisdom and knowledge throughout our Association at the district and continental levels. They produce a regular e-newsletter.
Received Anchor Congregation designation in 2005.
