Get Involved
Looking for deeper involvement with other young adult Unitarian Universalists? Here are several opportunities.
Find or Start a Young Adult or Campus Ministry Group
Search for a young adult or campus ministry group near you by using the online directory ConnectUU. If you cannot find a group near you, the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries has a variety or resources and services to help you start a young adult or campus ministry group of your own! If you find yourself wishing there were a Unitarian Universalist (UU) young adult group in your area or on your campus, there are likely others with the same desire for community.
Attend a Conference
There are a number of Unitarian Universalist-focused trainings and conferences throughout the year including regional campus ministry conferences and anti-racism conferences and trainings. You can search events on ConnectUU by geographic location.
The UUA Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries sponsors a number of annual trainings and events for UU young adults, including General Assembly Young Adult Caucus and the UU Youth and Young Adults of Color Multicultural Leadership Conference. Keep up with the latest by visiting our blog Blue Boat for Youth and Young Adult Ministries.
The Continental Unitarian Universalist Young Adult Network (CUUYAN) organizes conferences for UU young adults. Their website includes information about the organization, upcoming conferences, and their blog.
Also, check with your UUA district staff to find out what is going on in your local area.
Service Opportunities
The UU Young Adult Spirituality & Service Program includes a directory of domestic and international service trips and opportunities offered by organizations that have been researched and informed by the UUA Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. These web pages also contain a number of resources helpful to young adults considering a service trip, as well as those adults who want to be allies in their experience.
Justice-Making Opportunities
As a justice-centered movement, we sponsor and work with other organizations to promote social justice programs and events on a regular basis. Learn more about opportunities to live your faith in action.
Explore Job and Volunteer Opportunities
We are always in need of fresh ideas and energy to keep our movement vital and relevant, and we would love for you to offer your skills and talents as a volunteer. From time to time, there are also paid job opportunities at the continental, regional, and local levels. Explore employment opportunities with the UUA.
Join a Community, Justice, or Identity Network
We partner with and support the formation of local, regional, and continental networks with common identities and interests. These include identity-based networks such as Diverse Revolutionary UU Multicultural Ministries (DRUUMM), DRUUMM Youth and Young Adults of Color, the UU Organization for anti-racist allies Allies for Racial Equity, and also the Continental UU Young Adult Network.
