UUA Call for Field-test Congregations
Tapestry of Faith High School Interfaith Leadership Program:
A Chorus of Faiths
We seek congregations diverse in size, location, and culture to field test a new curriculum developed with the Interfaith Youth Core (founded by Eboo Patel) and funded with a grant from the Shelter Rock Congregation. A Chorus of Faiths, by Renee Ruchotzke and Hannah McConnaughay, guides youth to become interfaith leaders as they explore diverse faiths, including our own, and implement a local interfaith
project based on UU values of service to our community and religious pluralism.
Field testing is crucial to the quality of UU faith development programs. Congregations are asked to submit feedback electronically via an Internet survey site, including notes on how you have adapted the material. All congregations field-testing A Chorus of Faiths in winter/spring 2011 are invited to join a monthly conference call to support you in planning your interfaith service project.
A Chorus of Faiths offers:
- 8 sessions and an interfaith service project to complete between Jan. and June 2011
- Introductory material to prepare and support leaders effectively
- Core stories from our Sources that teach UU values, Principles, and religious concepts
- Clear goals and learning objectives for each session
- Activities based on a variety of learning styles, including a focus on personal narrative
- Alternate activity choices to help you tailor each session to your needs
- Taking It Home activities and resources to share with families and friends
- Faith in Action activities to engage the group in living our faith within or outside the congregation
- Online format – free, searchable, and adaptable.
