A Song

by Maggie Humes

Editors' Note: We are unable to publish the music of a song, but below are Maggie's lyrics.

You hear your heart pounding
the moment's coming close;
In a second it will be going
or it will be the ending show.
Now smile pretty for the camera
don't let him break your heart;
now you hope it isn't the karma
that is supposed to start.

Breathe in, breathe out;
the pain seeps in.
Now you don't see what it's all about,
this craved sin.

You hear your heart pounding
it's moving away from your chest
heavier it keeps growing
as his hands move across your breast.
You want to tell the truth
and say please, please stop,
but you know how unsmooth
your friends will think you are.

Breathe in, breathe out;
the pain seeps in.
Now you don't see what it's all about,
this craved sin.

It hurts
you bleed
it tears
as he needs.
"Just stop,
I can't.
Get off.
This isn't what I want,"
you wish you could say.

Breathe in, breathe out;
the pain seeps in.
Now you don't see what it's all about,
this craved sin.
Why is it desired when it only brings pain?
But smile like you like it or he won't love you again.
