It Hurt

by Richard Blissett

It hurt
When you took me in
Pretended
Just like it was old
And newly discovered
And so simple sweet
When you made me
It hurt
When you took away
A slivered moon
My waiting caller
Bled me
Keep me away
And say you don't know
Me
And my living breaths
Were they anything at all?
