Spill the Basket - Letters to the Editors
Dear Synapse,I am writing this is as an (in)famous letter-to-the-editor writer from Fall of 1995 . Ouch—How old am I? Not important. The bottom line is simple—despite the change in my age, all of the wonderful values and experiences I had as an active Young Religious Unitarian Universalist (YRUUer) have only helped to make me a better and happier adult. In 1995, I never would have believed it. Really. Never, ever.
In 2005, I know that the Unitarian Universalist (UU) view of the world that I have carried with me into adulthood has not failed me. I suspect that many of you will not believe me—hell, I would not have believed me! But, rest assured, tolerance, understanding, and compassion are never out of style and even sustain an old geezer like me.
In closing, I would like to say how
saddened I am to see the demise of
Continental Conference (Con Con), but it made my day to see all of the old issues of Synapse
with YRUUers from my generation (I thought that all of the old issues would have
been ignored since the invention of the personal computer). I encourage all of
you to continue your own journeys in life.
