Technical Specifications for Video Submitted to UUA.org
The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is not currently accepting unsolicited video files. Every submission must include a UUA staff contact and information about the project for which it is intended.
We accept the following video file formats (bit-rate set to 600 Kbps - 2.5 Mbps):
- Actual DVDs (mailed to your staff contact at 25 Beacon St., Boston, MA 02108)
- MP4
- MOV
- M4V
- AVI
All files will ultimately be converted by the UUA to MP4 / H.264 video at 600-900 Kbps (frame size dimensions a multiple of 16) for uploading to our server. We recommend using the MPEG4 or H.264 codec when recording.
Suggestions:
- An aspect ratio of 4:3 will look best on UUA.org. 16:9 will include "letterboxing" above and below the video.
- Select a frame size that is a multiple of 16.
- Choose 24-30 frames/second.
- See Top Ten Digital Video Tips for digital video advice.
We are not a full-blown production outfit. We can trim dead space off the beginning and end of your video and/or splice out unwanted material if you provide the beginning and ending time stamps for such an edit. We can provide an opening layer with the name and title of a presenter and/or a closing slide if requested.
Please consider submitting a high-quality image (at least 700 pixels wide) for use in promoting this file on UUA.org.
This work is made possible by the generosity of individual donors and congregations. Please consider making a donation today.
