Kimberly Sweeney is the Lead for Faith Formation and Safe Congregations for the New England Region. Kim works with Religious Professionals and lay leaders to inspire and coach new and innovative models of Faith Formation, and supports ministries that bring people of all ages into the fullness of congregational life. As Safe Congregations Lead, Kim works with congregatiosn to develop and implement safety policies and practices that, at their best, are an embodiment of our covenant with each other.
Kim has been invited to speak and lead workshops around the country on Multigeneratioanl Ministry, Spiritual Practices for All Ages, Worship Planning, and Faith Formation. She is passionate about shared ministry on staff teams, whole congregation worship, integrated youth ministry, and creating a culture of safety and accountability in our congregations.
Before joining the UUA Kim served as the Director of Religious Education of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Milford, NH. Kim's work before religious leadership included serving as the Director of Montessori school in central NH, teaching in a Montessori classroom in southern NH, working as a Business Administrator, and serving in the United States Army.
She is a gradute of Lesley Universiaty where she earned a Master's in Education. Kim became a Credentialed Religious Educator in 2014.
She lives in Easthampton, MA with her two teenage daughters.
