A Just Minimum Wage: Senator Edward Kennedy to speak at United First Parish Unitarian

Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts will speak at United First Parish Unitarian in Quincy, MA on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 16th at 2:30 p.m. Kennedy’s appearance is a highlight of the LET JUSTICE ROLL Living Wage Campaign and, along with other advocates, he will address the urgent need to increase the federal minimum wage, which has remained stagnant at $5.15/hour for the past nine years.

The Unitarian Universalist Association and Unitarian Universalist Service Committee are active members in the national LET JUSTICE ROLL Living Wage Campaign.

The United First Parish Unitarian Church of Quincy, and minister Rev. Sheldon Bennett, have been staunch advocates for economic justice through their active participation in the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, which has led the Justice for Janitors campaign, the establishment of the MA Affordable Housing Trust, and is currently engaged in the Health Care for All initiative.
