As part of the One Nation Working Together march in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, October 2, 2010 a contingent of Unitarian Universalists will bear witness to this event under the Standing on the Side of Love banner. They will march along with representatives of other faith communities and social justice organizations in support of One Nation Working Together’s mission to “to build a more united America–with jobs, justice and education for all.”
The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and Standing on the Side of Love have endorsed One Nation Working Together as a reflection of our commitment to social justice and an extension of Unitarian Universalist principles.
The Unitarian Universalist Association is a faith community of more than 1,000 self-governing congregations that bring to the world a vision of religious freedom, tolerance and social justice.
Unitarian Universalism is a theologically diverse, non-creedal religion in which members support one another in our individual search for truth and meaning.
Standing on the Side of Love is a public advocacy campaign sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association that seeks to harness love’s power to stop oppression. Through community activism, social networking, and media outreach, people across the nation are equipped to counter fear and make love real in the world. All are welcome to join.
