One soul made a choice,
And one pair of hands labored…
But not with love.
Let us ponder—what can one soul do?
It can choose to inflict suffering—
Or it can selflessly sacrifice.
Let us choose—individually and collectively
to walk our special path
in the strength of our Unitarian Universalist faith.
Let us hold—in our hearts and in our prayers
those who witnessed
the unspeakable.
Tender Spirit of Life,
bestow illumination and peace
especially to the children…
