UUA Youth Ministries

Unitarian Universalist (UU) youth ministries are supported by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Lifespan Faith Development staff group and the Youth Ministries Office. UUA youth ministries serve youth and their advisors on a continental (not just U.S.) basis.  This support includes the Chrysalis Training Program, resources for leaders and members, and leadership development for youth through Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU).

YRUU is an organization for Unitarian Universalist youth ages 14-20.  The YRUU website includes information about the structure and governance of YRUU, its history, and its social justice work.

Getting Started

If you're a youth getting involved in congregational life, youth group, or Unitarian Universalism, there are some great resources available to you.  You can also visit the UUA.org Leaders' Library (in the Leaders section) and search for resources for youth, or by the Office of Youth Ministries, for more resources.

Until 2007, YRUU and the Office of Youth Ministries published a magazine called Synapse, which contained resources, articles, poetry, and reflections by Unitarian Universalist youth.  The entire archives are available online, and contain tons of great information and history.

You can also sign up to join UUA email lists especially for youth, including specific lists for BGLTQ (Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender and Queer) youth, youth interested in social justice, or YRUU discussion.
