Video Contest: Help U.S. Voters Stand on the Side of Love

Imagine, in this election season, if a simple, compelling video message changed the world.

It could happen. And we want you to be involved!

You're the Director

Make a short video (four minutes or less) proclaiming Unitarian Universalist (UU) values and a vision of the future.

DO NOT endorse a particular candidate or political party.

DO submit it by October 8, 2012.

The top pick wins $1,000! The top five receive $100 worth of Standing on the Side of Love gear.

Will your video focus on voter registration, supporting a moral budget, or issues such as reproductive justice, or marriage equality? Where will your imagination take you?

Guidelines

• Must have a running time of four minutes or less.
• Must not advocate for or against a specific candidate or party.
• Must not use copyright-protected images or music, unless you own the copyright and will give the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) permission to use it.
• Must be an MP4, M4V, MOV, AVI, or other standard video file.
• Must have permissions from everyone in the video. (We'll need this release form (PDF) signed for each person and emailed to us.)

First, post the video on YouTube, Vimeo, or another online location where we can view it.

Second, transfer the original file to the UUA by going to UUA WeTransfer, sending the file to votingonthesideoflove @ uua.org.

Third, submit the form below!

The Fine Print:  By submitting a video, you assert: I own the copyright to this media and grant to the Unitarian Universalist Association the following rights, or I have written permission from the copyright holder(s) that grants the UUA the following rights: to reproduce the media on UUA.org; caption the media posted on UUA.org; make and post a transcript or text description of the media on UUA.org; provide the media for download to UUA member congregations and affiliates; post still images captured from the media on UUA.org; and translate the media into other languages and post the resulting files on UUA.org. I grant the UUA permission to podcast or post the media on YouTube and/or other video- or audio-sharing sites. I grant the UUA permission to repurpose parts of the media for other UUA programs.
