Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Welcome & Equality

Unitarian Universalism is a caring, open-minded faith community. Our congregations are places where people gather to nurture their spirits and put their faith into action by helping to make our communities—and the world—a better place.

Unitarian Universalist congregations extend a warm welcome to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals, families, and communities. We work to promote acceptance, inclusion, understanding, and equity for LGBT persons of all ages, abilities, colors, and genders, both within our denomination and in society at large. We are committed to protecting the civil and legal rights of LGBT people and families across the country.

The Unitarian Universalist Association's LGBT Ministries staff team helps individuals and congregations confront homophobia, heterosexism, and transphobia and affirm the inherent worth and dignity of persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions through programs and resources.

You can also check out congregational stories about LGBT welcome and equality and LGBT event coverage from General Assembly, the annual meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

No matter who you are, you are welcome here!
