Young Adult & Campus Ministry Anchor Congregations

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Clemson
Clemson, South Carolina

Thomas Jefferson District
The UU Fellowship of Clemson has been designated an anchor congregation for its outstanding campus ministry work at nearby Clemson University.  A small mid-sized congregation, UUFC supports a campus chaplain and coordinates a group of UU faculty and staff to help run its campus ministry, called the Winchester Society.  The chaplain writes a regular column for the congregation's newsletter, and the campus ministry committee reports annually to the congregation as a whole.  Weekly meetings for worship and meditation are the cornerstone of Winchester Society programming, and are added to with regular involvement in social service and on-campus learning opportunities.  The group seeks to provide campus programming on a variety of topics, including Ecology and the Sacred and making BGLT students safe on campus.
