Jubilee Anti-Racism Workshop: One

The Jubilee One

The Friday evening through Sunday morning "Creating A Jubilee World" Workshop was developed by the Jubilee Working Group for Anti-Racism. This workshop is designed to help Unitarian Universalist congregations dismantle racism by allowing participants to examine both personal and institutional racism, and by empowering them to develop a realistic plan that can move their congregations forward in working for racial justice. Objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Increase awareness of racism within the church and the larger community;
  • Recognize the power/privilege of racism from personal and institutional perspectives;
  • Identify activities and responses that promote the elimination of racism;
  • Identify the challenges and barriers to working toward eliminating racism;
  • Examine our denominational values, principles, and purposes in relation to the vision of a Jubilee World;
  • Begin the process of building an anti-racism transformation team.

Saturday Workshop

All of Saturday is dedicated to the anti-racism activities led by the facilitators. Lunch and snacks for all the conference participants should be planned by the hosting committee.
