Groundwork Trainings
GROUNDWORK trainings can be designed to range from half-day (four hours) to week-long, five-day trainings (forty hours).
- Anti-Racism Analysis Development
For groups that have had very little or no exposure to anti-racism education, this training will focus on the foundational building blocks: a history of race and racism, racial identity development, developing a common analysis, and understanding different types of power.
- Anti-Oppression Analysis Development
By discussing different types of oppression and how they are both linked and divided this training will focus on developing a stronger anti-oppression analysis. By using race and racism as a powerful example we will look at our own multiple identities and how we interact with society.
- Analysis Development and Organizing
For groups that have had some anti-racism or anti-oppression training and want to take their learning a step further. This training, while reviewing the foundational principles, will also include a comprehensive organizing and "taking-it-home" piece.
- Anti-Racism and Racial Identity Development for People of Color
This training is for People of Color groups that want to understand anti-racism through a discussion of racial identity development. We will explore the roots and manifestations of internalized racial oppression, celebrate resistance movements throughout history and talk about how to build stronger communities of color.
- Anti-Racism and Racial Identity Development for White People
This training is for White groups that want to understand anti-racism through a discussion of racial identity development. We will explore the roots and manifestations of internalized racial supremacy, develop skills to move past guilt to a place of accountability with People of Color, and learn how to better fight for racial justice.
