December 2007: Commission on Social Witness Asks You to Vote
Dear friends,This month, the UUA’s (Unitarian Universalist Association's)Commission on Social Witness is asking you to vote. Included in this packet is information on the Congregational Poll—to determine what Congregational Studies and Actions Issues will appear on the 2008 General Assembly agenda. All certified congregations are encouraged to participate—it’s democracy at work! Besides the flyers included here, you can find out more on the UUA Social Justice website.
Our national marketing campaign continues, with a new, full-page ad scheduled to appear in TIME Magazine’s December 31 issue, available on newsstands December 21. Find out more about this campaign, including how you can participate.
This packet also includes resources for people interested in attending the upcoming conference, “Leading Congregations Into a Multiracial, Multicultural Future: Now is the Time.” You will find information on next year’s UU (Unitarian Universalist) University, a safety survey for congregations, a call for congregations to field-test Tapestry of Faith children’s programs, an invitation for submissions to a meditation anthology from Skinner House Books, and more. See the enclosed flyers for more information.
Also, I’d like to thank my predecessor, Erika Nonken, for faithfully compiling these monthly mailings for the past three years. I hope to serve as well as she has in this capacity.
All of the contents of this mailing are available on www.uua.org. The online mailing is currently accessible through “I am interested in…” > News > Congregational Monthly Mailing. Please feel free to print extra copies of the materials included here and to share this information with others.
In peace,
Daisy Kincaid
