August 2007: Social Witness Statements; Christian UU Revival; Association Sunday; Grant Funding Program

Dear Friends,

The 2007 General Assembly in Portland, OR, was well-attended, energetic, and productive.  We thank each of you who contributed time and effort to make it such a success.

To see the online coverage and order your own recordings of GA events, visit UUA.org, choose “Events” from the “I am interested in…” drop-down menu, click on “General Assembly” in the left-hand menu, and select “2007 Event Coverage” in the new left-hand menu.   To read the statements that were passed at this summer’s General Assembly, visit UUA.org > “I am interested in…” > “Social Justice Statements,” and select “2007” in the year field.  If you have any questions about these statements, please feel free to write to socialjustice @ uua.org

One of the most popular events at the Assembly was a discussion panel featuring the Unitarian Universalists (UU) who helped to publish the Pentagon Papers.  For more information, please see the enclosed letter and chapbook, and visit Beacon Press.

In this packet, you will also find information on a Christian Unitarian Universalist revival, social justice events planned for the fall, Association Sunday and the Now Is the Time campaign, grants available from the UU Funding Program, and more.

All of the contents of this mailing are available on UUA.org.  The online mailing is currently accessible through “I am interested in…” > News > Congregational Monthly Mailing.  Please feel free to print extra copies of the materials included here and to share this information with others.

Best of luck preparing for the upcoming church year!

In Faith,
