Chapter 11: Evaluating Your Conference
An evaluation process creates a specific time, space and structure in which to exchange information and feelings. The goal of an evaluation process is to identify the elements that shaped your conference. The main question is not whether things went well, but why they happened as they did. Finding the deciding factors—the elements that hindered or helped the conference community—can provide valuable insight and experience for the future. An evaluation also plays a vital role in individual leadership development. Planning a conference is a challenging experience for young people; it allows them to try out their skills in many areas. Providing feedback for people is part of the learning process.
