Planning the Worship Services

The worship coordinator must do some planning before the conference. The first thing to consider is where the service or services will be held. Conference worship needs to be in a sacred space; the physical environment counts. Bright fluorescent lights, crowded rooms, and places that are easily interrupted are not conducive to good services.

The next step for the coordinator is to make sure that time is included in the conference schedule for planning the services. Conference planners should be aware of events happening at the same time as the worship-planning workshop. Try to schedule for when the most people would be willing and able to attend.

The worship coordinator should bring in a few suggestions to the worship-planning workshop related to the theme of the conference, or about issues pertinent to the youth at the conference; both make for good worship topics.
