November 2008: Planning Ahead; Events and Issues

Dear Friends,

We have more information for you this month and of course, more conferences and issues to engage and involve your congregants with.

The Commission on Social Witness has a Draft of Statement of Conscience on Peacemaking and the Congregational Study/Action Issue Ethical Eating. Involve your congregation in this important social witness process and hold meetings, submit comments, and take a poll online.

Our Office of Worship and Music needs your help! Submit comments and help shape the future of the WorshipWeb.

Lifespan Faith Development needs help creating our Tapestry of Faith. Authors are needed for two youth curricula and they are searching for field-test congregations for two children’s programs.

Make sure your congregation is on track with staff salaries; take a look at the 2009 Salary Recommendations from the Office of Church Staff Finances.

And don’t forget to check out the news from International Resources and tune in to President Sinkford’s pilgrimage in Africa this month, just read the flyer for tips on how you can tag along as he travels through six different countries.

Please feel free to print extra copies of the materials included here and to share this information with others.

In peace,

Sabe Graham
Public Information Assistant
