March 2008: Registration for UU University Opens March 1
Dear Friends,
As we “march” toward spring, now is the perfect time to think about attending UU University 2008. Registration opens on March 1, and this annual educational event is scheduled for June 24 and 25, just before General Assembly. Designed to help Unitarian Universalist (UU) leaders of all kinds better serve and energize their congregations, UU University will feature Rev. Nick Carter, president of Andover Newton Theological School, as the keynote speaker. Find out more with the flyer included below.
The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is now taking nominations for The Annual Award for Distinguished Service to the Cause of Unitarian Universalism, one of the most prestigious honors bestowed on Unitarian Universalists. The deadline for nominations is April 1, and details about the nomination process are available in this packet.
For those interested in socially responsible investing, a schedule of free teleconference workshops will be offered by the UUA Committee on Socially Responsible Investing. These no-cost teleconferences scheduled throughout April will address community investing, investment screening, and shareholder activism in informative 45-minute sessions. Registration is free and open now. For more details, see the flyer titled “Making a Difference with Ideals, Impact, and Involvement.”
Now there’s another way to show your faith, with new Unitarian Universalist bumper stickers. Eye-catching and inexpensive, these bumper stickers feature the new UUA tagline, “Nurture Your Spirit. Help Heal Our World.” It’s a great way to spread the word about Unitarian Universalism!
Please feel free to print extra copies of the materials included here and share this information with others.
