We presented our United Nations Sunday service along with our Developmental Minister.Songs and worship elements were dovetailed to support the theme. I ,(Janet Bendowitz) as the adult envoy delivered a reflection entitled "The UN makes a difference" . Clara Lacorte (the young envoy) shared a video of her creation which included her reflections on participating in the Intergenerational Seminar of 2019. The Reverend Jaye Brooks shared her experiences of working with UN agencies in Africa.Janet also outlined the "Every Child is Our Child" program which the congregation supports for providing school supplies and uniforms to children orphaned by HIV/Aids in Ghana. These funds support the ""Queen Mothers" of the Manya Kroba region of Ghana who have taken these children into their homes. The offering of this service will be dedicated to this effort. In addition, the congregation was encouraged to donate ti the UU-UNO itself.
Prior to UN Sunday, notices were posted in the UUCSR publication the "Quest" highlighting the upcoming service. In addition, announcements were made at earlier services.
As part of the Denominational Affairs Committee's involvement with the congregation, follow up notices and discussions were conducted.
