Large churches face unique challenges in
their potential for growth, health, and spiritual vitality. Authentic leadership
calls us to the effective, ethical, and spiritual use of power in our
congregations. Even in the midst of the demand for such leadership our
congregations can be critical of those who act outside the limits of designated
authority, in order to get things done. We will explore effective ways of leading in this
The triennial conference for large congregations provides an inspiring
for shared learning grounded in the accomplishments and real
experiences of the
largest Unitarian Universalist congregations in
North America. It is also an opportunity for initiating
strong lateral relationships among those congregations and their
leaders both lay and professional.
