How can my congregation register for Association Sunday?
Each congregation has a different way of managing special services and collections, so it is important that you check with your minister and Board before taking any steps to register. Once you have followed the guidelines set out by your congregation, please:
- Have your minister or Board President register with the Stewardship and Development Office by e-mailing associationsunday @ uua.org or calling (617) 948-6544. He or she can also register online. Remember that even though you may have registered for previous years' celebrations, you need to register your intent to participate in 2009.
- Schedule a Sunday—we recommend October 4, 2009—for your "Association Sunday" service.
- Spread the word about Association Sunday among members of your congregation. Newsletter articles, pulpit announcements, and e-mail messages are all good ways to share your enthusiasm for this project. Visit our resources page for materials that will help you plan a successful service.
