Empowering Congregations
Today we honor two of the congregations that reached truly empowering levels of energy and generosity on Association Sunday 2007. The River of Grass UU Congregation in Plantation, Florida and the UU Fellowship of Huntington, New York each held such inspiring services and spearheaded such organized campaigns that they were able to raise more than $50 per member!

Kaufmann Mental Health Fund Announced
Recognizing that the UUA’s ministerial scholarships are rarely large enough to cover expenses outside of tuition, books, and basic living needs, two profoundly generous donors have endowed the Katherine S. and John W. Kaufmann Ministerial Student Mental Health Fund.
Through their exceptional gift, the Kaufmanns have given our seminarians access to therapy, supporting their transition to professional ministry and equipping them to be the most effective Unitarian Universalist ministers they can be.

Free Resources for Congregational Planned Giving
The Association’s Office of Legacy Gifts is now distributing free resources to help you shape your congregation’s planned giving program. Visit our planned giving resource pages for more information or to place an order for bulk print resources.
If your congregation doesn’t currently have the capacity to arrange planned gifts, the Office of Legacy Gifts is available to help facilitate the process. But distributing this gift planning information to your congregation just might be the first step to securing the sizeable estate gifts that will benefit your congregation for years to come.

Now is the Time Campaign Update
As of March 11, 2008, the Campaign has reached 75% of its $50 million goal, including $15.8 million in cash and pledges and $21.5 million in legacy commitments.
