Application Process for All Funds
Please decide which Fund meets your needs.
All applicants must use our format detailed in this website.
Deadlines
We accept applications twice each year for the Fund for Unitarian Universalism, the Fund for Unitarian Universalist Social Responsibility and the Fund for a Just Society.
Completed applications must be postmarked no later than:
- Spring Cycle—March 15
- Fall Cycle—September 15
NOTE: If the 15th falls on a weekend, the deadline is the following Monday.
The Fund for International Unitarian/Universalism accepts applications once a year postmarked by March 15.
We do not accept applications via fax, email, or Federal Express.

Review Process & Timeline
Grants are awarded by Funding Panels two months after the cycle deadlines. Applicants are notified in writing of the decisions. Grant checks are sent out three months after the application deadlines. Please consider this timeline as you plan your project and create your budget. Applications for grants for specific events must be submitted in a grant cycle at least six months prior to the event.
Application Requirements
- Include two copies of all materials listed in Materials to be included
- Use 8.5"; x 11" white paper, printed on one side only
- Use at least 12 pt. type and leave a 1” margin
- Do not staple the proposal or use a presentation folder
- Number the pages
Keep in mind that your application will be photocopied and read along with 20-60 others. Make it easy for the readers. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
