Youth Advisor of the Year Award
The nomination process for this year is currently closed. The 2009 award was presented to Mary Beth Manning and Carol Conchar of the Emerson Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Marietta, GA. The criteria can be found below.
Do you know of (or are you) a fabulous advisor who works with Unitarian Universalist youth? If so, we invite you to nominate that person (or yourself) for the 13th Annual Youth Advisor of the Year Award!
The Advisor selected will receive the Youth Advisor of the Year Award at General Assembly (GA) in Salt Lake City, UT, in June. If the Advisor cannot attend GA, the award will be presented in absentia. The Youth Advisor of the Year will have $500 donated to their congregation's youth group in their name, in addition to having their name and picture featured in the Youth and Young Adult Ministries Booth in the GA Exhibit Hall! Advisor nominations must include:
- A brief bio which also lists the advisor’s experience with youth and qualifications;
- One letter of recommendation from a YOUTH with whom the advisor has worked;
- One letter of recommendation from an ADULT in the congregation or district with whom the advisor has been affiliated.

- How does the advisor use the Six Components of a Balanced Youth Group Program and the Five Steps to Building Community?
- How is the advisor empowering to youth?
- Examples of the advisor’s positive attributes.
